ROPE ACCESS TRAINING

SPRAT CERTIFICATION COURSE

Course Duration: 5 days
Course Format: 4 days of training + 1 day for an evaluation
Certification: Certification through SPRAT at whichever Level you are successfully attain

Industrial rope access training is done to the SPRAT Certification Levels (1, 2, and 3). All three levels run concurrently throughout the week. Each student will focus on skills pertinent to the level they are trying to attain. These courses will teach students how to safely access structures using two-rope systems, as well as advanced techniques of structural progression and rescue. Rope access is an efficient means of working-at-height, and is applicable to a growing number of industries and trades, including:

  • Structural Engineering & Inspecting

  • Theater & Production Rigging

  • Communication Tower Climbers & Erectors

  • Window Washers

  • NDT Technicians

  • General Facility Maintenance

SPRAT Level 1, Rope Access Worker:

  • No experience required prior to training

  • Four days of rope access instruction by a competent trainer (recommended)

  • Completion of Level I written exam on the fifth day

  • Pass the Level I field evaluation conducted by a certified SPRAT evaluator on the fifth day

SPRAT Level 2, Rope Access Lead Technician:

  • Minimum 500 hours and 6 months of documented industrial rope access experience as a Level I Technician required

  • Four days of rope access instruction by a competent trainer (recommended)

  • Completion of Level II written exam on the fifth day

  • Pass the Level II field evaluation conducted by a certified SPRAT evaluator on the fifth day

SPRAT Level 3, Rope Access Supervisor:

  • Minimum 500 hours and 6 months of documented industrial rope access experience as a Level II Technician required

  • Four days of rope access instruction by a competent trainer (recommended)

  • Completion of Level III written exam on the fifth day

  • Pass the Level III field evaluation conducted by a certified SPRAT evaluator on the fifth day
