In November 2015, we will be providing the opportunity for Military Veterans and Reservists to partake in the Construction Safety Officer, two week, full time training program. This will be followed by a one week Occupational First Aid Level 2 course. This is a joint venture between ER Plus Risk Management Group Inc. and Ronin Safety and Rescue Inc. The programs will be conducted in Richmond, British Columbia with a maximum of 15 students. Our goal is to offer this course at no cost to the veterans and reservists.
Background
Industries and job titles vary, however the employment forecast for safety professionals is very positive. In its 2011 report, NIOSH estimated that approximately 13,000 trained students would graduate safety-training courses by 2016, compared with 25,000 job openings. This represents a shortfall of about 12,000 professionals. With the attention to detail and self-determination that the military instills in its staff, we feel this is a great fit for transitioning members.

We are able to offer this program to veterans and reservists with highly qualified instructors; several who have served in the military themselves. With ER Plus’s five years of CSO delivery and Ronin’s forty-two percent military veteran staff, we feel we are the perfect joint venture to provide this training.
Partnerships and Assistance
We are looking for partnership opportunities to assist in the success of this program. This assistance could be in the form of; monetary, sponsorship of a student, assistance with a work experience placement position, opening up a network or other means.
